Alisa Vakhtangova

Stories of place, memory and home

Photographer

Alisa Vakhtangova is a Russian-born Australian photographer, formally trained as an architect and currently undertaking studies in art and documentary photography.

She first became interested in photography as an architecture student, where the slow pace of analog camera drew her to the authenticity of place, and quiet, often overlooked moments.

Following the birth of her daughter, Alisa transitioned into commercial photography. Through her personal projects, she explores memory, belonging, and the emotional geography of living between cultures. Her photographs are primarily made across Croatia, the UK, and Australia.
